Addiction Treatment Program

Partial Hospitalization in Southborough, MA

As the name implies, partial hospitalization in Southborough, MA, involves elements of clinical care and medical monitoring. Addiction treatments may include medications, particularly if people are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. There are also cases where it would be medically unsafe for somebody to stop using a substance without medication, for example in cases on long-term and heavy alcohol dependency. Furthermore, medications can help to address any mental health issues.

When attending partial hospitalization programs, or PHP in Southborough, MA, people stay in the clinic or center during the daytime and return to their own home each evening. As the most intensive form of outpatient rehab, PHP requires attendees spend a significant amount of time in the clinic.

Day Treatment in Southborough, MA

Similar to partial hospitalization programs, those receiving day treatment in Southborough, MA, visit the clinic each day and sleep at their own home every night. Daytimes are filled with robust treatment plans and therapies, designed to achieve the best results for anyone looking to beat a substance addiction.

Intensive Outpatient Program in Southborugh, MA

An intensive outpatient program in Southborough, MA, is different to the partial hospitalization program in that it doesn’t include medical monitoring. Therapies and treatments, however, are similar. Professionals work with clients to create a solid plan, which may include group and individual counseling, support group sessions, behavioral therapies, education, mindfulness, motivational therapies and more.

Attending IOP in Southborough, MA may be suitable for anyone experiencing addiction issues and who:

  • Are dedicated to making a positive change
  • Will attend regular appointments
  • Have a supportive home environment
  • Have a good wider support network
  • Live in a substance-free home
  • Face little risk of being exposed to alcohol or drugs outside of the center

Outpatient Program in Southborough, MA

As with the above-mentioned programs, people who enroll in an outpatient program in Southborough, MA, will live at home while attending the center for addiction treatment during the day. As with other programs, an outpatient program, or OP, includes diverse rehab therapies and treatments to suit individual needs.

While offering a robust plan, OP in Southborough, MA, may require a smaller time commitment than IOP, thus allowing attendees to maintain other commitments, such as work, education or family. It may be possible to timetable sessions to fit around existing life commitments, and some attendees find evening sessions particularly advantageous to their circumstances. Virtual OP may be another alternative if you are unable to physically visit the clinic for treatment because of issues including mobility, accessibility, transportation, finances, childcare provisions and similar.

Men’s Rehab Program in Southborough, MA

Although most group activities within addition treatment programs generally include a mixture of men and women, people may feel more comfortable attending a dedicated men’s rehab program in Southborough, MA.

A rehab program for men places a greater focus on issues that tend to be unique to men. Furthermore, men and women learn differently; a men’s program is specifically designed to be educational for men and promote male-centered learning. Moreover, a man’s healing journey is likely to be different to that of a woman. Men’s rehab programs are customized to fully meet the typical recovery of a man.

There is often a greater, real or perceived, stigma surrounding reaching out for help when it involves a man. Single-gender sessions can break down some of this stigma and make attendees feel more comfortable when surrounded by others in a similar position as them. Rehab programs for men also help to remove barriers that can exist in mixed-gender settings.

Women’s Rehab Program in Southborough, MA

As with men’s rehab, a women’s rehab program in Southborough, MA is centered more around the issues and needs typically specific to one particular gender.

Women may feel more comfortable, less distracted, more open, more empowered and less self-conscious when attending rehab alongside other women. Sessions are designed around common learning and healing techniques typically unique to women. Women may bond easier with other program participants, helping to forge supportive friendships that will last long into the future.

In short, there’s a wide range of addiction treatment programs in Southborough, MA to support anyone experiencing a substance use disorder.

If you are looking for a men’s rehab program in Southborough, MA, then a gender-specific treatment center is the best option for you.

Are you ready to take the next step? This helpful guide will assist you on your recovery journey. Read on to learn more about men’s rehab programs in Southborug, MA.

Men's Rehab Program

How to Choose a Men’s Rehab Program in Southborugh, MA

Choosing the right men’s rehab program is a vital part of your recovery. Speak to the treatment center about what you hope to achieve during and after your treatment. If you need to detox, then you must choose a facility that provides a detox program.

There are various options for treatment based on whether you need medical supervision during your rehabilitation or not. Most facilities offer detox programs that vary in length from a few days to over a week.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An intensive outpatient program in Southborough, MA, is perfect for patients who have lots of responsibilities and little time. This type of program involves visiting the center a few times each week to receive treatment.

An IOP in Southborugh, MA, is for patients who do not require detoxification or a residential stay. Patients in an IOP will receive medical monitoring alongside psychological treatment and group therapy. An OP in Southborugh, MA, is the best way to attend rehab without interfering with your normal life

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Partial hospitalization means a patient will not stay overnight at the treatment center during their program. The treatment center may encourage rehab patients to stay in a sober living community during this time to lower the risk of relapse. Patients in addiction partial hospitalization in Southborugh, MA, will visit the treatment center on a part-time basis to receive treatment.

Although PHP in Southborugh, MA, is part-time, you will still attend the treatment facility for a significant portion of each day.

Residential Rehabilitation

Taking part in a residential rehabilitation program (or inpatient program) means you will stay at the rehab center for the duration of your treatment. You can often choose how long you stay, with long periods of rehab lasting up from 6-12 months.

Men's Rehab Program

What Happens in a Men’s Rehab?

During your time in men’s rehab, you will experience various forms of treatment that will help you on the road to recovery. Part of your treatment will involve learning healthy habits and routines, such as waking up early and eating regular meals. You’ll also have some free time to take part in activities, read, or meditate.

Day treatment in Southbourgh, MA, will also include many of the following forms of treatment.

Individual Therapy

Individual sessions provide a safe and supportive environment for you to heal and share your concerns with a therapist. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common treatment method used in individual sessions. CBT is a talking therapy that teaches coping skills for dealing with various mental health disorders.

One-to-one therapy provides a place where you can share your feelings if you don’t feel comfortable speaking in front of other patients.

Group Therapy

Listening to other group members share their recovery stories can help patients gain trust in one another and develop healthy friendships. It will also make you realize you are not alone in your recovery journey. Group members will be able to relate to your experiences better than anyone else and provide a deep level of understanding and support.

Alternative Therapy

Addiction treatment programs in Southborugh, MA, provide various supplemental programs to assist with your recovery. These can range from exercise programs to art therapy and motivational speakers. Specialized sessions may be available to you in the form of stress management, family therapy, or grief counseling.

Speak to your treatment center to find out the alternative treatments that will be available to you during your stay.

The Importance of Gender-Specific Rehab

There is no denying that mixed-gender treatment facilities are effective. However, men and women experience different issues that lead to their substance addiction. Some men do not have the communication skills or support to open up about their feelings.

This pressure is often the cause of addiction disorders in men. Some of the major benefits of gender-specific rehab for men include:

  • Focus on men’s issues
  • Building strong male relationships
  • No female distractions
  • Open communication with other men

In our society, there is a lot of pressure on men to provide for their families and be strong role models. Men might not feel comfortable exposing their emotions in front of women in a rehab setting. A men’s outpatient program in Southborough, MA, gives patients a better chance of achieving long-term success after their treatment ends.

Start the Stairway to Recovery

Drug Addiction Treatment Program in MA

Drug Addiction Treatment Program in MA

While the percentage of adults decreased during the pandemic, it’s still a fact that drug addiction remains to be a serious problem in the United States. Addiction and drug abuse cost businesses more than $740 billion in workplace productivity, crime-related costs and medical expenses. Read further to know more about the different SUD treatment programs available for permanent recovery.

What is Addiction

Addiction is not having control over using or consuming alcohol and/or drugs. It can affect a person’s ability to think and act, and you’re usually unable to stay away or avoid the substance or stop your addictive behavior. You may lose self-control and dismiss how your actions may be causing problems in work or family life.

If not addressed, addiction can seriously interfere with your daily life. It also leads to depression and anxiety, and you may end up blaming others for your problems. Other complications include HIV/AIDS, heart disease, damaged relationships, debt, neurological problems or you may end up going to jail.

Drug Addiction Treatment Program

How is Addiction Treated?

One thing to keep in mind: all types of addiction can be treated. The treatment will focus on helping you or a loved one permanently recover from addiction without getting into relapse.

Common types of addiction treatment include medications, especially for mental disorders associated with addiction such as schizophrenia and depression. Psychotherapy including group therapy can help you better understand your addiction problems and how you can overcome them. Inpatient recovery programs or residential treatment require patients to monitor and effectively manage their addiction in a controlled environment with the help of medical therapists and psychologists.

Detox Program

The detoxification process is the first step to treating patients with addiction problems. It’s the process of clearing your body of drugs and alcohol and helping you or a loved one safely manage withdrawal symptoms.

The medications used for detox help the patient feel comfortable while the drugs leave their body. How long detox takes depends on the severity of the addiction problems and other factors such as the substance used, duration of addiction, methods use (injecting, swallowing, snorting, smoking), the amount of substance taken, underlying medical conditions and your family history.

Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Programs for Treating Addiction Problems

Intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization programs are both effective at treating people with addiction problems. Both offer flexibility and fewer disruptions in your daily life. You or a loved one can still continue to work, socialize with friends and family, maintain your lifestyle, and still get treated for your addiction. However, there are a few differences between the two. Read further to know how they differ and let us know if you’re ready to get started with your treatment so we can advise you on which treatment is best for you.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An intensive outpatient program is an addiction treatment designed for recovering patients. It provides you or your loved one with the medical and therapy help that you need without requiring you to visit the facility several times a week. You can continue living a normal life while still getting treatment.

With the IOP, you’re only required a few short visits a week, usually 3 hours per session. How long the treatment last depends on the evaluation of our medical therapist. Patients can participate in group sessions to get the support they need to recover.

This type of addiction recovery program is recommended for those patients that don’t require around-the-clock monitoring and those that only suffer moderate to mild addiction. It’s not advised for patients that may be exposed to situations that could trigger a relapse. Speak with one of our therapists to help you decide which addiction treatment program is best for you.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Compared to IOP, the partial hospitalization program requires more sessions and visits per week. It’s similar to the residential recovery treatment program, the only difference is that you don’t stay in a residential facility.

With the PHP, the patient may be required to visit the facility up to 5 times a week, depending on the therapist’s recommendation. Each visit may take between 4-8 hours of treatment.

Partial hospitalization is ideal for patients who have undergone residential treatment but want access to the outside world. It’s going to help those patients better transition to their old routine. If you or a loved one has completed residential treatment and may have a higher chance of relapsing, it may be best to get a partial hospitalization program to ensure that you stay sober. You also can benefit from this if you’re experiencing withdrawal symptoms and need further detoxification. Don’t worry, we have therapists who can help you take the next step of your treatment program

Which program is best for me or my loved one?

Both the IOP and the PHP are part-time rehabilitation options that don’t require you or a loved one to stay in the facility, giving you more independence and flexibility. The good thing is that you still get access to therapists and medications required to help you permanently recover from addiction. Also, compared to inpatient, both of these programs are more affordable, helping you save money.

Men’s Rehab Program for Drugs and Alcohol in MA

In Network Alcohol Treatment Program in Southborough, MA

Around 60% of American adults report they drink alcoholic beverages. As one of the most popular drinks in the United States, it may come as no surprise that alcohol use disorder is also widely prevalent.

Mental health disorders, genetic predisposition, or environmental factors can all impact the development of a substance use disorder. An alcohol treatment program can help you manage your symptoms, withdraw from alcohol, and live a healthier life. Unfortunately, it is extremely challenging (and often dangerous) to try and stop alcohol use at home.

There are several dangerous withdrawal symptoms that can place your health at risk. It can also increase the likelihood of relapse. Luckily, we have a complete guide that will cover how you can find an alcohol treatment program and the benefits of partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Keep reading on for more information!

Alcohol Treatment Program in MA

What Is a Substance Use Disorder?

A substance use disorder can include any use of drugs or alcohol that leads to dependency and negative health consequences. Substance use disorders can also affect finances, work obligations, and relationships.

Alcohol use disorder ranks from mild to severe, depending on your or a loved one’s symptoms. It includes excessive drinking and an inability to stop even when it negatively affects your health or life. When you stop drinking, it results in several withdrawal symptoms, such as:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Tachycardia
  • Headache
  • Insomnia
  • Nightmares
  • Anxiety

Since alcohol is widely used, detecting alcohol misuse or abuse can be challenging. For starters, alcohol use disorder primarily revolves around wanting to stop. It can also lead to participation in riskier behaviors and distract from responsibilities, such as work.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program in Southborough, MA

A SUD treatment program in Southborough, MA, addresses drug and alcohol abuse. The primary benefit of attending an alcohol addiction treatment program in Southborugh, MA, is that you can start participating in therapy and counseling that has proven effective.

Recent studies show that using cognitive-behavioral therapy or other therapies in conjunction with pharmacotherapy demonstrated the best results. Pharmacotherapy is a widely used treatment for opioid and alcohol use.

One of the most common medication-assisted treatments used is naltrexone. Medication can blunt alcohol’s effect, diminishing the pleasurable sensations.

In return, it can reduce relapse and dependency. However, other behavioral therapies can help you change thoughts and behaviors.

For example, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a gold-standard approach for treating several mental health disorders. A trained professional in CBT is crucial to milking its benefits.

CBT helps you identify faulty thought patterns. It also challenges your current thoughts surrounding substance use disorder. The goal of CBT is long-term and positive thought and behavior changes.

Alcohol Treatment Program in MA

What Rehab Program Is Right for You?

The ideal rehab program will have vast experience working with alcohol use disorder. There are several recovery stages and programs, like:

  • Detox facilities
  • Residential programs
  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Detox is the first step in recovery. Medical detox facilities help you safely withdraw from a substance. If needed, they can provide medication to minimize your symptoms and ensure your safety.

Stays in detox centers are fairly brief. Afterward, you will likely need a residential or PHP facility. These are more intensive, requiring hours of therapy and counseling to help you stay sober.

Depending on the facility, Medicare and other insurances could cover portions of a PHP. Usually, the facility must meet certain standards, and you must have a physician’s recommendation.

The main difference between a residential program and PHP is that the latter doesn’t require you to remain overnight. If you are not at risk of harming yourself or others and have a lower relapse rate, you may be more appropriate for a PHP.

Compared to an IOP, PHP is slightly more intensive, encompassing the majority of your day. Some patients in an IOP either have a less severe substance use disorder or have transitioned from a higher level of care.

It requires less time commitment than a PHP but more than outpatient therapy. Other patients may even hold part-time jobs and utilize their life skills in applicable situations.

IOP vs. Outpatient Therapy

Say you have a mild alcohol use disorder or have completed several inpatient rehab steps. At this point, you may feel ready to transition back home and start reintegrating into the real world. This process might entail finding a job, rebuilding relationships, and working on your mental and physical health.

Is an IOP or outpatient therapy right for you? While most tend to err toward outpatient therapy, IOP is a great bridge between intensive residential stints and outpatient.

Treatment can vary based on the clinic. But you can expect upwards of nine hours of therapy weekly, helping you slowly wean from higher levels of care while avoiding relapse risks.

Women’s vs. Men’s Rehab Program in Southborough, MA

Is there a difference between a women’s rehab program in Southbrough, MA, and a men’s? Yes, and sometimes, enrolling in gender-specific programs can help you with other co-occurring disorders such as trauma or past abuse.

Additionally, men and women respond differently to substances. While men have higher rates of substance abuse, women are more likely to relapse. Some treatments have not had adequate testing on women, making it crucial that you enroll in a treatment program that offers highly individualized care.

Enroll in an Alcohol Treatment Program Today

A substance use disorder treatment program in Southborough, MA, can help you with alcohol use disorder. Northstar Is Now in Network With Blue Cross Blue Shield

In 2020, around 91.4% of Americans had health insurance. Medical insurance is an excellent tool to cut health expenses and help you receive quality care.

A gray area for many individuals is whether their insurance provider covers addiction treatment. With recent changes from the Affordable Care Act, you may be surprised to find that many providers, like Blue Cross Blue Shield, offer coverage.

However, the next big hurdle is finding an in-network facility. Luckily, we have simplified the process for you. At Northstar Recovery Center, we understand how important it is for you to afford quality treatment when starting your road to recovery.

In our complete guide, we will review our recent changes with Blue Cross Blue Shield and how you can attend Northstar Recovery Center today. Keep reading on for more information!

Northstar Is Now in Network With Blue Cross Blue Shield

Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Provider

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) is an umbrella term defining 36 independent insurance providers. Some advantages of BCBS are:

  • Nationwide coverage
  • Extensive physician network
  • Various insurance options

Approximately one-third of Americans have a BCBS plan. They have contracts with about 90% of physicians and medical facilities.

Since they have several Medicare insurance plans, they are a well-known Medicare Advantage provider. Around 30% of the top-ranked Medicare Advantage plans fell under BCBS.

On the downside, BCBS’ plans vary by state and region. Your costs and coverage may differ significantly, and it is important you review your plan options and costs beforehand.

How Does BCBS Rank?

BCBS Medicare-Advantage plan rankings can give you a general idea of how BCBS fares. Medicare rankings for BCBS is 4.1, with several areas that scored at a 4.5 or higher. Some of the highest positive BCBS reviews were:

  • Care for older adults
  • Timely appeal decisions
  • Reviewing appeals
  • Reviewing complaints

Additionally, AM has ranked it as an A- in terms of financial strength. Ultimately, it can provide comprehensive coverage in several states without sacrificing affordability.

Does Insurance Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?

Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA), many Americans did not have treatment coverage for substance use disorders. In 2014, these changes were implemented, boosting insurance coverage from 77% the year previous to 100%.

By 2017, all group commercial insurance plans were grandfathered in. With this new coverage, the ACA aims to provide coverage for:

  • Substance use
  • Mental health

However, the extent of coverage can still vary amongst providers. Some of the general services and treatments covered by insurance are:

Since ACA requires coverage for mental health illnesses, treating co-occurring disorders is also covered. Services that are not usually covered include:

  • Holistic/alternative treatments
  • Recreation programs
  • Private treatments
  • Additional non-medical amenities

You should also follow up with your BCBS plan regarding coverage for medication-assisted treatment, peer support, preventative counseling, and treatments. In-between plans like partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) can fluctuate on coverage.

What Is In Network Insurance?

Substance use disorder programs include various in-network providers. Essentially, this means that treatments offered at a facility are covered to an extent. The primary difference between choosing an in-network facility versus an out-of-network is discounted rates.

For example, if BCBS has contracted with a facility, they have both agreed to outlined rates. In some instances, you might not see any expenses on your hand. However, if you choose an out-of-network facility, you will assume the cost differences since there is no contract in place.

However, the specific contract, treatments, and individual plans will vary in their coverage. In-network insurance providers will typically cover substance use disorder treatment with two criteria:

  1. The facility is Medicare-approved
  2. It is medically necessary

Under Medicare, inpatient rehabilitation is covered by Medicare Part A. Outpatient treatments are under Medicare Part B guidelines.

Since coverage, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses can vary, it is essential you talk to an admissions specialist. They can review your specific insurance plan and help you determine expenses.

Northstar Is Now in Network With Blue Cross Blue Shield

How To Find a BCBS In-Network Rehab

One of the quickest ways to find a BCBS in-network rehab is to contact the facility you have an interest in. Sometimes, rehab facilities offer online insurance verification forms online. These are easy to fill out and help you find insurance eligibility.

Another avenue is contacting your insurance provider or agent. By visiting the BCBS website, you may be able to pull up information on your health coverage and search for in-network providers and facilities.

Medically Necessary Coverage

Since BCBS is so expansive, there are several physicians and offices that have contracts with them. This makes the process easier to contact and schedule an appointment with your in-network primary care physician. Before attending an inpatient or outpatient rehab, you must have physician approval.

Essentially, Medicare and other insurance providers will only cover treatment and interventions if “medically necessary.” The term medically necessary is when a doctor determines that your substance use disorder requires expert medical care for your health. They can also help you locate and start the process of entering a drug and alcohol addiction center.

Northstar Recovery Center has partnered with BCBS to offer in-network coverage. What does this mean for you or a loved one? First, you can rest assured that if you have BCBS, you can access high-quality addiction treatment at Northstar Recovery.

Second, you have options for attending flexible treatment programs. Northstar Recovery focuses on two primary rehabilitation programs:

  1. Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
  2. Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Additionally, in these programs, you work with qualified healthcare professionals. They help facilitate evidence-based practices and treatments that help your sobriety journey.

Partial Hospitalization Guide

What is partial hospitalization, and how does it differ from inpatient programs? A PHP is a step down from an inpatient center and does not require overnight stays. One of the big challenges with insurance coverage is finding providers that will cover flexible programs.

BCBS and Northstar Recovery Center work hand-in-hand to offer intense addiction recovery therapy without being away from your family for weeks or months. There are two reasons you may choose a PHP:

  1. You did not qualify for inpatient rehab
  2. You require less-intense rehabilitation

Typically, PHP is ideal for individuals who have already completed the detox process. At this point, if you are not in danger of harming yourself or others, you could qualify for a PHP.

Daily time commitments are approximately six hours. You will attend a PHP five days a week in a safe environment. When you start your sobriety journey, it can seem scary to dive back into the real world.

PHP offers a great balance between rehabilitation and building life skills. You will also access mental health professionals. They can help with co-occurring disorders, such as substance use disorder and depression or anxiety.

Other treatments offered in a PHP are individual and group therapy. Peer supports groups are established and can be a lifeline for you down the road.

Intensive Outpatient Program Guide

An IOP is a step down from a PHP. It offers less intense and time-consuming therapy. When is an IOP appropriate?

  • You are not at high risk of relapse
  • You are not at risk of harming yourself or others
  • You want to transition from an inpatient program or PHP
  • You have a less severe substance use disorder

Substance use disorders follow a ranking of mild to severe. Mild diagnoses may not require a detox or inpatient program. However, it is still likely in the best interest of the person to attend therapy and seek professional help.

Rather than visiting an outpatient center once or twice a week, an IOP is slightly more intensive. It allows people to hold part-time or full-time jobs and does not require 24/7 overnight stays. IOPs usually have longer durations than other outpatient programs.

This helps clients develop coping skills and peer support groups to help long-term success. Additionally, IOPs have a higher retention rate than traditional outpatient programs. Clients are usually more invested and have greater time commitments, which leads to better outcomes.

Although it requires more accountability than other outpatient programs, it is more cost-friendly and opportunistic than inpatient rehab. At Northstar Recovery, an IOP requires three to five days of therapy weekly for up to five hours. Like PHPs, you will participate in individual and group therapy, including support groups.

Is a Virtual IOP or PHP Covered by BCBS?

Virtual healthcare services are increasing in popularity and insurance coverage. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth services have been critical in helping people safely receive medical guidance.

Addiction recovery centers were no exception. As of October 2021, approximately 42 states required insurance providers to reimburse telemedicine. Many private and federal insurances will offer some telehealth coverage.

Since Northstar Recovery has a contract with BCBS as an in-network provider, you can ask about your comprehensive virtual IOP coverage. As the name sounds, a virtual IOP or PHP allows you to attend rehab from home.

The time commitments and therapies are the same. You may lose some of the personal in-person connections, but you gain greater flexibility. Here are some of the key components of virtual IOPs and PHPs, such as:

  • Group meetings
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Evidence-based practices (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy)
  • Mental health counseling
  • Support groups
  • Holistic advice

Virtual centers are useful for individuals who are not a high safety risk. Yet, they may need additional support to withdraw and remain off drugs or alcohol.

Do You Need Addiction Treatment?

Substance use disorders are mental health conditions that require professional guidance in many situations. When drugs or alcohol are misused, your brain starts rewiring its reward centers. Over time, the brain relies on these external sources for chemical releases, creating a higher dependence on substances and greater difficulties in withdrawing.

It is not simply a means of quitting. It takes months to years of hard work to achieve sobriety. Afterward, it is an ongoing battle for many Americans, but the reward is worth it!

Addiction treatment also helps with relapses, which are highly prevalent during recovery. In fact, as many as 50% of individuals suffering from a substance use disorder experience relapses. While this isn’t a sign of failure, having reliable resources on hand can reduce the risks of relapse.

This may require starting therapy again or switching to a different program. It might also be part of the process, and your therapist or healthcare professional can give you the tools to get back on your feet. Lastly, addiction treatment centers are helpful.

People who seek addiction recovery at a younger age have a better chance of success. Yet, one of the most significant statistic is that approximately three-quarters of individuals with a substance use disorder recover. The key is attending or seeking recovery help.

For example, in this study, the researchers also found that it took more than one attempt. The average number of attempts was around five. Maintaining a positive attitude and following counseling can make a tremendous difference in your recovery and quality of life.

Eighty percent of people who recovered from a substance use disorder had one major life accomplishment. This shows the good that people can continue pursuing after attending a drug and alcohol treatment center.
