We Are Here For You

Northstar’s Drug Rehab Near Wilbraham – Programs and Services

Northstar’s drug rehab near Wilbraham offers a variety of programs and services so that every individual seeking care can get the help they need, how they need it.

Our addiction day treatment programs in Massachusetts provide immersive therapy for substance abuse near Wilbraham. As a day treatment client, you’ll come to Northstar six days per week. Sessions meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The program provides structure and is an ideal starting point for many people. Evidence-based therapies are the foundation of the program. Your schedule will consist of group therapy, at least once-weekly individual therapy sessions, family therapy (as long as it is appropriate), 12-step meetings, yoga, and other activities, such as niche recovery groups.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Massachusetts at Northstar is the next step down from day treatment. Clients in this program attend therapy for three-hour-long sessions on each treatment day. Multiple IOP schedules are available:

  • Mornings (9:00 AM to noon).
  • Afternoons (12:30 PM to 3:30 PM).
  • Evenings (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Southborough or 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in West Springfield).

Saturday sessions meet in the mornings from 9:00 AM to noon. Our IOP is highly flexible, acting as an ideal solution for those in the Wilbraham area who are balancing work or school with addiction treatment. Some people start treatment in IOP. Others transition into IOP after completing day treatment. During the intake process, we’ll help you choose the right starting level of care for you.

In addition to our in-person drug rehab programs near Wilbraham, Northstar is proud to offer virtual addiction treatment in Massachusetts. This includes a fully virtual partial hospitalization program, a fully virtual IOP, and hybrid scheduling (a combination of in-person and online sessions). People receiving virtual care from Northstar will work with their therapist and participate in groups over secure online sessions. Family members participating in family therapy also have this option.

Many people looking for drug rehab in Wilbraham will have one or more additional co-occurring mental health concerns. For example, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, or anxiety. These may affect your relationship with substances and your overall quality of life. Addressing them simultaneously matters. We offer in-person and online dual-diagnosis treatment that does exactly that. Our treatment professionals work with both mental health conditions and substance use disorders, providing trauma-informed care and integrated therapy for addiction and mental health. Also known as integrated care, dual-diagnosis treatment supports positive treatment outcomes, such as improvements in psychiatric symptoms and functioning, better quality of life, and reduced substance use.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach for treating substance use disorders. It involves combining medication for substance use disorders, like alcohol use disorder or opioid use disorder, with therapy and peer support. Some people take medication on a short-term basis. Others benefit from long-term MAT. Either way, Northstar is here to help. We provide MAT near Wilbraham, MA, for people who find that it’s the right fit for their recovery journey,  with a psychiatric nurse practitioner available on-site for medication management.

While some people are able to get off of drugs and alcohol with the help of outpatient services only, others require inpatient medical detox. Although we do not offer inpatient detox, Northstar Recovery Center can refer you to a drug detox center near Wilbraham if needed. People who attend inpatient medical detox usually stay for about 3-10 days, though this can vary. After you are medically stable, you can start therapy in one of our programs.
