You will participate in group therapy sessions, individual therapy, 12-step meetings, yoga, and other activities (e.g, family therapy), partially depending on your personal treatment plan. This highly structured schedule will let you build new routines, develop a strong set of coping skills, and focus on your recovery without staying at an inpatient drug rehab center. Our day treatment program is comparable to a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or highly intensive outpatient program (HIOP). 

The partial day treatment program at Northstar Recovery Center requires a lower time commitment than day treatment. Clients in the partial day treatment program at Northstar Recovery Center participate in three-hour sessions on each designated treatment day. As an incoming partial day client, you will get to choose from one of the following schedules:

  • Mornings Schedule: Meets from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Schedule: Meets from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. 
  • Evenings Schedule: Meets from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM or from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, depending on location. 

Partial day treatment is an ideal level of care for clients who need to balance responsibilities, like their job, with drug and alcohol rehab. Some clients start their journey at Northstar Recovery with this level of care, whereas others transition to it after completing day treatment.  

On top of our in-person drug and alcohol rehab programs convenient to the Shrewsbury area, Northstar Recovery Center offers virtual and hybrid scheduling. We have a fully virtual intensive outpatient program, which involves attending therapy over secure online sessions throughout the week. Northstar Recovery also offers hybrid scheduling, which lets clients attend a mixture of in-person and online therapy sessions. 

At Northstar Recovery Center, we understand how deeply substance use disorders can affect loved ones as well as the person experiencing addiction directly. In addition to family therapy, we offer Northstar family support groups at both of our locations. The family support groups at our centers are open to all adult loved ones of our current and former clients.
