Clients in our day treatment program in Massachusetts participate in treatment services six days per week. As a day treatment client, you can expect to attend treatment from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM Mondays through Fridays and from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. On treatment days, day treatment clients participate in group therapy sessions, 12-step meetings, individual therapy, yoga, and other treatment activities (e.g., family therapy sessions). The day treatment program at Northstar Recovery Center provides intensive care for substance use disorders on an outpatient basis, which makes it a viable alternative to inpatient drug rehab for some clients. This program, sometimes referred to as a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or high-intensity outpatient program (HIOP), can also be used to help clients transition out of inpatient drug rehab.
Our partial day treatment program, also referred to as an intensive outpatient program (IOP), requires a significantly lower time commitment than our day treatment program. Clients in partial day treatment at Northstar Recovery Center get to choose from several treatment schedules, including:
- Morning Schedule: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Afternoon Schedule: 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
- Evening Schedule: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Southborough) or 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM (West Springfield).
In addition to working with insurance companies like Aetna, the flexibility of our programs makes getting help for addiction more accessible. Some clients start with partial day treatment, while others step down to this care level after completing our day treatment program. Many clients opt for this program if they intend to work while in treatment or are ready to return to work after completing a higher level of care.
The virtual intensive outpatient program at Northstar Recovery Center is covered by applicable insurance plans like Aetna, just like our in-person drug rehab programs. However, this program enables clients to participate in treatment entirely online over secure virtual therapy sessions. Hybrid services (a blend of in-person and online therapy sessions) are also available at Northstar Recovery.
