Drug Rehab Covered by Anthem at Northstar Recovery Center

Obtaining drug rehab coverage through Anthem at Northstar Recovery Center can provide peace of mind for you and your family. Your insurance plan may help cover the costs of any program offered at either Northstar location.

Northstar Recovery Centers offers highly structured addiction day treatment programs in Massachusetts. This program is also known as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or a Highly Intensive Outpatient Program (HIOP). The time commitment for day treatment is similar to a standard work or school schedule. Clients attend our centers six days a week.

Sessions begin at 9:00 AM, and from Monday through Friday, you'll stay at Northstar until 3:30 PM. On Saturdays, your time at the center will last until 2:00 PM. A typical daily schedule includes group therapy sessions, individual therapy, and other activities, such as family therapy, depending on your specific treatment plan.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) serve as a step down from day treatment, offering greater flexibility for individuals who need to manage responsibilities like work while attending addiction therapy. Clients in our IOP, covered by Anthem, can choose from three treatment schedules:

  • Mornings: Sessions run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Afternoons: Sessions occur from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
  • Evenings: Sessions are held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Southborough and from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in West Springfield.

Many clients transition to our IOP after completing day treatment, but the program can also serve as an initial level of care for individuals experiencing less severe symptoms when they begin treatment.

Along with our in-person recovery programs, we are pleased to offer virtual addiction treatment in Massachusetts, covered by Anthem. Options include virtual PHP, virtual IOP, and hybrid scheduling that combines in-person and online therapy sessions.

Northstar Recovery Center offers dual-diagnosis treatment that is covered by Anthem. This type of treatment is accessible to anyone seeking care at the center, whether they are entering day treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or a virtual program. Also known as integrated treatment, dual-diagnosis care addresses both addiction and mental health issues simultaneously, helping clients achieve the best possible recovery outcomes.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an effective approach for treating addiction. It combines FDA-approved medications for substance use disorders with therapy and additional support services, such as peer support. These medications can be used on either a short-term or long-term basis, depending on the individual’s needs. We provide MAT in Massachusetts for those who believe it is the right option for their recovery.

The duration of drug rehab coverage by Anthem can vary based on the specific healthcare plan you have. Generally, clients’ insurance benefits will cover the entire length of their treatment programs with us. If any issues arise, we can reach out to Anthem on your behalf.

While we do not provide inpatient drug detox services, our team can assist you in finding a detox center nearby that accepts Anthem insurance. We will take care of the logistics, including verifying your insurance benefits for a detox program in your preferred area. Detox from drugs and alcohol typically lasts a few days to a couple of weeks. After this period, you can begin therapy at Northstar Recovery Center. If you require inpatient treatment after detox, we can help coordinate that as well. Many people start their recovery in our outpatient programs, but it is also common to enter inpatient drug rehab before transitioning into outpatient care.

Anthem plans cover most evidence-based therapies used for treating addiction. Our drug and alcohol rehab center, which accepts Anthem, takes a comprehensive approach to addiction care.
