Our day treatment program in Massachusetts operates daily from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Clients receive personalized treatment plans and follow a schedule that includes group therapy sessions, 12-step meetings, individual therapy sessions, yoga, and other therapeutic activities tailored to their specific needs. Also called a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or high-intensity outpatient program (HIOP), this level of care can act as an alternative to or step down from inpatient rehab. The structure of this program enables clients to establish new, healthy routines with optimal support from treatment staff on an outpatient basis.
The partial day treatment program at Northstar Recovery Center, covered by BCBS and other insurance plans, has a reduced time commitment compared to our day treatment program. Clients participate in flexible, three-hour-long sessions, as opposed to being at treatment for the majority of the day. For this reason, partial-day treatment is ideal for clients who need to balance obligations, such as work or caring for their family, with their treatment.
Partial day treatment at Northstar Recovery can serve as a starting level of care or help ease your transition out of day treatment. Additionally, clients can choose from our morning (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM), afternoon (12:30 PM to 3:30 PM), or evening (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Southborough or 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in West Springfield) partial-day treatment options.
In addition to our in-person treatment options, Northstar Recovery Center offers virtual and hybrid scheduling for clients. We have a virtual day treatment program for clients who wish to participate in therapy fully online. Alternatively, you can combine in-person and online treatment sessions for a hybrid approach.
In many cases, addiction affects not just the person experiencing it but those around them. In addition to family therapy sessions, Northstar Recovery offers free family support groups, which are open to adult loved ones of our current and former clients. Northstar Family Support groups meet for 1.5 hours on Mondays, starting at 6:00 PM.
