Our addiction day treatment programs in Massachusetts are comparable to a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or highly intensive outpatient program (HIOP). This level of care combines the convenience of living off-site with immersive therapy services, held six days per week. Day treatment clients come to our centers Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. While everyone at our centers receives a personalized care plan, a typical day treatment schedule will consist of recovery meetings (e.g., 12-step), group therapy, individual therapy, and other activities, such as family therapy sessions.
The intensive outpatient program in Massachusetts at Northstar Recovery Center is the next step down from day treatment. Although day treatment involves attending therapy for most of the day, clients in our intensive outpatient program (IOP) come to our centers for just three hours per day. This lower time commitment makes it possible to balance responsibilities, such as work, with addiction therapy. You can start your journey with IOP or step down to IOP from day treatment once you're ready. Both Northstar Recovery Center locations offer three IOP schedules, including our morning, afternoon, and evening options.
Our evening IOP in Massachusetts meets on weekdays from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM or from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, depending on the location you attend. Although many treatment centers do not have evening programs, we recognize that many people have obligations that prevent them from attending therapy during the day. This treatment option makes getting help possible for those unable to participate in morning or afternoon sessions during the week.
In addition to a range of in-person outpatient programs, we are proud to offer virtual addiction treatment in Massachusetts, which is covered by Carelon Behavioral Health.
