Our day treatment program offers more intensive care than a traditional outpatient program. Also called a partial hospitalization program, or PHP, day treatment is a common starting level of care for our incoming clients. This immersive program meets from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on weekdays and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at both of our centers. The amount of therapy you’ll receive in PHP is comparable to that of an inpatient rehab program, but opting for this program means you will be able to live at home or in sober housing while getting treatment during the day.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Northstar Recovery Center is the next step down from day treatment. Rather than spend most of the day in treatment, clients in our IOP participate in three-hour-long sessions on treatment days. This reduced time commitment accommodates individuals who need to balance responsibilities, such as work, with treatment. Many people enter IOP after completing day treatment to help them transition back into typical daily life. However, IOP can also serve as a starting level of care for incoming clients.
Many people facing addiction will have another condition, such as an anxiety, mood, or trauma disorder. Northstar Recovery Center offers dual-diagnosis treatment covered by United Healthcare for clients with co-occurring mental health concerns. Available at all care levels, dual-diagnosis treatment addresses addiction and co-occurring disorders simultaneously to promote positive outcomes. For example, better psychiatric functioning, an improved quality of life, and an increased chance of recovering from or successfully managing both disorders.
Our evening IOP meets after typical work hours, whereas other IOP options at our centers meet in the morning or during the afternoon. Evening IOP clients at our West Springfield location attend treatment from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on treatment days. Evening IOP clients at our Southborough location attend treatment from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
